Victims of Human Trafficking / T-Visa

Miranda Emanuel, MA, LMFT skillfully evaluates the emotional, psychological, and physical (if applicable) effects experienced by victims of human trafficking. T-Visas can be issued to such victims and their immediate families, provided they agree to aid law enforcement by testifying against their traffickers.

A key component of this evaluation is the applicant's demonstration that they would face unusual or severe harm if deported from the United States. Factors considered include the applicant's age and personal circumstances, the presence of serious physical or mental illnesses that cannot be treated in their home country, a high risk of re-victimization, and/or the reasonable expectation of retribution from the trafficker upon return to their country of origin.
